Joseph Boateng

Joseph Boateng serves as the Community Coordinator at Street To School (S2S), bringing extensive experience in education and leadership. Formerly an assistant headteacher and currently the coach of the U15 boys team, Joseph combines his administrative expertise with a passion for youth development.

His journey with S2S began organically in 2019 when, as a childhood friend of ‘Coach Bobby’ and a longtime admirer of the Billa Mahmud legacy, he formally joined the organization. Since then, he has become instrumental in overseeing data collection and community outreach, helping to strengthen the connection between S2S and the local communities it serves.

Affectionately known as “Boat” by colleagues and participants, Joseph is recognized for his problem-solving abilities, consistently finding innovative ways to address the evolving needs of community development in Accra. His commitment to justice and equity, particularly for Ghanaian youth, drives his work every day.

Joseph envisions Street To School becoming a leading organization that provides access to quality education for young people in La Township and beyond.

Leon Yemoh

Leon Yemoh is the Director of Street To School (S2S). Born in Ghana and currently residing in the UK, Leon has a long-standing passion for contributing to the development of his home continent.

His commitment to social impact is deeply rooted in his upbringing in La, Accra, where Street To School operates. Leon’s dedication to youth advocacy and community development inspired him to pursue a degree in Politics and International Relations, followed by a postgraduate qualification in Project Management.

Since joining Street To School in 2017, Leon has worked tirelessly to expand the organization’s reach, which initially began by using football as a platform to engage ‘street’ children, providing them with access to free sports, education, and mentorship. Under his leadership, S2S aims to broaden its impact within Ghana and internationally.

Outside of his professional commitments, Leon is an avid sports enthusiast, with a love for football and badminton. His passion for sport also fuels his vision of leveraging its power to create meaningful change for marginalized communities.

Noel Nortei

Noel Nortei is the tutor and homework club coordinator at S2S. In his day-to-day he is a passionate screenwriter and independent filmmaker dedicated to using film as a transformative tool for societal and behavioral change. With a deep belief in the power of storytelling, he crafts narratives that inspire reflection and action. Committed to community development, Noel also volunteers his time to mentor and support young boys and girls, empowering them to unlock their potential through education.

Richmond Ashia

Richmond is the Operations Manager of Street To School (S2S) in La, Accra, Ghana. A multitalented leader, Richmond is deeply rooted in the community he serves, having grown up in La and participated in the earlier iterations of S2S through the Future Stars football academy, founded by Billa Mahmud.

In addition to his operational role, Richmond wears many hats—he is a creative director, photographer, and the U17 boys coach, leading his team to a recent league victory. His strategic acumen and natural leadership make him a pivotal figure at S2S, often taking the lead in ground-level strategy and resource management.

Affectionately known as “Coach Bobby,” Richmond is a trusted and compassionate presence within the community, fostering open relationships with parents and guardians. His deep understanding of the local landscape ensures the organization’s resources are utilized effectively and in ways that directly benefit those in need.

Richmond is passionate about creating an inclusive, uplifting environment for everyone he encounters. His personal vision is to carry on the legacy of Billa Mahmud by expanding S2S’s positive impact on youth across Ghana and Africa at large.

Dinkaah Ngwa

Dinkaah is a dedicated advocate for humanitarian causes and social justice, driven by a deep passion for making a difference.

With a strong academic foundation and years of professional experience in humanitarian and social development, Dinkaah brings a wealth of knowledge to his work. He holds an undergraduate degree in Law, along with postgraduate qualifications in International Development, Human Rights Law, and Social Work.

As a registered social worker in the UK, Dinkaah has extensive experience supporting vulnerable children, young people, and their families. His practice is rooted in a relational, strength-based, trauma-informed, and systemic approach, which has proven effective in working with refugees, children at risk of exploitation, children in care, and children with disabilities.

Dinkaah’s passion for supporting vulnerable populations was further ignited through his direct involvement with the S2S programme in Ghana. This experience solidified his commitment to the organization’s mission and its impactful work in improving the lives of children and families.

Aligned with the vision and values of Street to School, Dinkaah brings valuable expertise in humanitarian and social justice, enhancing the charity’s six-pillar approach with his deep commitment and specialized knowledge.

Naz Azram

My name is Naz Azram, and I am a proud father of three with over 22 years of experience in sales, specializing in the logistics and supply chain industry. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with multinational companies, honing my expertise in this dynamic field.

Outside of my professional life, my true passion is community engagement through sport. I founded Unity 101 FC, an award-winning football club dedicated to giving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to experience the game. For more than 13 years, I’ve volunteered my time, uniting players from diverse faiths, ethnicities, and cultures, while leading the team to multiple promotions and championships. The club’s efforts have earned several accolades, including the prestigious BBC Unsung Hero Runners-up Award and the Hampshire FA Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Heroes Award.

Football is a cornerstone of my life, both as a coach and a father. With my children now actively playing, I proudly serve as head coach for two youth teams and assistant coach for two more. My deep involvement in the game stems from a belief in football’s unique power to bring people together and foster personal growth and development.

It has been incredibly rewarding to witness the talents of players like brothers Beng’yela and Dinkaah, and Saqib’s unwavering defensive contributions at Unity 101 FC. As I now turn my attention to the Street to School project, I am excited to continue making a positive impact on young lives through the beautiful game.

Saqib Aslam

Saqib Aslam is a results-driven Program Manager and COO with a wealth of experience in delivering large-scale strategic solutions. With fourteen years of experience at a tier-one investment bank, Saqib also holds a First Class Honours BSc degree in International Business.

Beyond his professional career, Saqib devotes most of his time to his family of five and his passion for football. As an FA Level 1 coach, he volunteers his time coaching and managing a local grassroots youth football team.

Saqib was introduced to Street to School by brothers Dinkaah and Beng’Yela Ngwa, who both played for Unity 101 FC, a community-based team that Saqib assisted with managing alongside fellow Street to School Director Nazakat Azram, the team’s founder. The mission of Street to School resonated deeply with Saqib, aligning with his commitment to supporting causes close to his heart.

He is excited to embark on this journey with the team, eager to contribute his time, skills, and energy to build upon the impactful work Street to School has already accomplished.
